Home Brewed Beer Could Soon be Allowed at Festivals in Missouri ...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX/MDN) ? People who brew their own beer at home could soon be allowed to take part in festivals and tastings across Missouri. The state senate gave its approval Thursday and Stephen Hale, Chief Brewer at The Schlafly Tap Room, had no objection.

?I don?t mean to insinuate that it?s all a love fest all the time, that?s not the case but we can all strive towards general peace and well being.?

Home brewers were banned last year from the St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival. The legislation would allow samples of homemade beer to be given out but not sold at festivals. The bill now goes to the House.

?It may not seem that we all get along, and there are different viewpoints on that, but I?m a big supporter of the kumbaya among all brewers,? said Hale.
