The New York International Auto Show is less than a week away, and you know what that means: teasers! That?s right, in a digital world where ravenous automotive blogs?including our own on occasion?gobble up any hunks of traffic meat automakers throw ?em, every auto show is now preceded by a flurry of? images that provide glimpses of soon-to-be-revealed cars. Fresh off teasing its new Jeep Forward Control concept for the Moab Easter Jeep Safari, Chrysler has already teased the interior of the 2013 SRT Viper and the grille of the 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 for next week's show.
?
But now Chrysler has officially jumped the shark.
?
The Detroit automaker released a teaser of an upcoming teaser. The image is about two-thirds black with the rest white. Rising out of the blackness appears to be the tops of three letters. We can only assume this is a reference to Chrysler?s SRT performance sub-brand, but with the SRT Viper already scheduled to debut in New York, we?re not sure what to make of it. Could the letters rising out of the black symbolize the emergence of a brand new car? Perhaps the Chrysler SPJ or the Dodge SBI? Hopefully they won't keep us in suspense too long.
?
(Editor?s Note: We hope you get the humor here, but just to be clear, Chrysler did not release a teaser of a teaser. Not yet, at least. You know somewhere there?s a marketing person going, ?Hmm, he might be on to something.?)
