Nonprofit land conservancy Forterra adds board members from Microsoft, other firms

Seattle-based nonprofit land conservancy Forterra has added five new members to its board of directors.

The new additions include:

? Dr. Lisa Graumlich, dean of the University of Washington College of the Environment, and also the Virginia and Prentice Bloedel professor there.

? T.J. DiCaprio, senior director of carbon and energy, Microsoft Corp.

? Marilyn Strickland, mayor of Tacoma.

? Greg Johnson, president of Wright Runstad & Co.

? Tom Luce, managing principal at Inveris Partners LLC.

?Forterra?s new board members add breadth and depth to our extraordinary leadership. They bring honed skills, experience and judgment to our board and critical work creating a sustainable, livable and affordable Northwest,? Gene Duvernoy, Forterra president, said in a statement.

?Bridging urban and nature is a critical factor in driving responsible growth," said DiCaprio. "I am excited to join the Forterra Board of Directors and help advance their important mission to create a thriving sustainable community in a leadership role."

Recently, Forterra has been active in supporting City Council passage of the South Lake Union rezone proposal.
